Reveniți în sală, democrat-liberalii au cerut lămuriri suplimentare privind valoarea terenului pe care entitatea religioasă urma să îl primească în dar de la Municipalitate. Până la clarificarea tuturor aspectelor, șeful grupului PDL, Dorin Corcheș, a cerut ca proiectul să fie amânat. Conform procedurilor, propunerea lui a fost supusă la vot, dar a căzut, motiv pentru care președintele de ședință, liberalul Daniel Negrean a supus la vot materialul inițial. Cu votul negativ al tuturor pedeliștilor și cu abțineri (chiar și de la partidele din coaliția locală de guvernare), Consiliul Local nu a avizat transmiterea în folosință gratuită a terenului de 2.952 mp, situat în Piața Cazărmii. Este vorba despre fostul manej din ansamblul Cazarma Husarilor. Decizia legislativului local a fost luată cu toate că reprezentantul Asociației Religioase, juristul Szucs Tiberiu a făcut o prezentare a activității acestei entități. Potrivit acestuia, Asociația are în total în jur de 3.000 membri în țară, dintre care în Oradea se află vreo 350. Szucs susține că entitatea în cauză derulează activități social-culturale, având un trecut de 19 ani. Până în 2008, s-a activat ca Asociație Umanitară, iar din 2008 pe baza Legii Cultelor.
